Bilby Production & Delivery Update #2

First up, we hope you're all doing as well as possible during these testing times. It has been a crazy couple of months, but as lockdown laws are relaxing there's hope of getting back to some recreational outdoor activities in the very near future. This is exciting!
New Production & Delivery Dates
In our last update we were looking at production being completed in April, with shipping to follow for a June delivery. Unfortunately, as a result of COVID-19, these dates have been impacted again.
However, we are happy to inform you that we've make significant progress and have new dates that we're very confident of meeting, getting the Bilby(s) to you in July.
Here's more information on the logistics if you'd like to know why.
Impact On Production
As you would be aware – Global supply chains have been severely impacted by the pandemic – and we were not Immune! Transport delays prevented us from sourcing a critical internal component. But thankfully, an alternative option was sourced and tested, allowing final production to continue. We're now excited to confirm that the Bilby's are in the final stages of being assembled and tested. The new estimated completion date of the Bilby headlamps is May 12th. Just a week from today.
Impact On Shipping
Our original schedules were based on shipping by air - but unfortunately, due to limitations on air transport, we will now be shipping the Bilby's by sea from our production facility in China to our logistics partners in the UK, US and AU. This obviously takes longer – but will ensure that your bilby is not left sitting at an airport without planes!
- Australia will be fulfilling Australia + New Zealand
- US will be fulfilling US + Canada
- UK will be fulfilling ROW
We are on track for the Bilby's to begin their journey by ship mid-May. Shipping and clearing customs will take between 4- 6 weeks, so we expect them to arrive to the 3PLs late June.
So, When Will I Get My Bilby?
Once in stock at one of the three regional dispatch centres, picking and packing will commence and your Bilby’s final journey will begin. From this point on, the parcel is in the hands of the local post providers, and we expect that you will get your Bilby in July.
A Few People Have Asked For A Refund. Can You Get One?
Unfortunately not. Kickstarter is not a store and does not issue refunds. When you backed our project, you were supporting Knog to make something new—and agreeing to join us for the ride. We are truly thankful for your trust and support, and while we may not be delivering on time, we will deliver.
